Board Meeting

August 12, 2002

Present: Ben, Rick, Janelle, Jessica, Kit

Meeting took place at the office of Wy'east at 7pm.

Reviewed and approved June and July minutes with changes. Changes noted below:

June notes:

  1. Under Finance - Minister professional expenses overspend to be covered out of professional expenses from this fiscal year (02-03) as discussed with finance committee.
  2. Under Finance - Music overspend to be covered out of minister discretionary.

Retreat:

Ben to drive. Meet at 8:30 to drive to Mabel's cabin

Agenda thoughts:

Janelle will type retreat agenda.

Board Vacancy:

Person who has been contacted regarding serving on Board is to be getting back to Ben within the next day or two. Discussed other possible candidates if individual declines.

Board Meeting Schedule:

2nd Monday of the month typically. Dates for Board meetings are as follows:

9/9, 10/14, 11/12 (Tues. following Veterans Day), 12/9, 1/13, 2/10, 3/10, 4/14. 5/12. Additional dates will be discussed and announced as needed.

Congregational Concerns:

Discussed areas of concern and how to proceed. Agreed on congregational involvement as well as UUA. Ben to contact PNWD/UUA and continue discussions with group.

 

Office Help for Year:

Jessica to call people who had expressed an interest (refer to June notes).

Put call out in Wy’east Notes for interested individuals to contact Jessica. Minimum of a 2 hour time commitment on Tuesday/Thurs.

Gilbert and Sullivan:

Janelle started process because she did it last year. However, it is too much for this year - and she will be out of town when the production occurs. Discussed who may be interested. Janelle to put call out in newsletter.
