Dear Wy’east community,

Walking outside this morning after the worst mass murder in U.S. history, things feel to me like they did the morning after the great Bay Area earthquake in 1989.  Stepping outside my door a few miles from the collapsed Bay Bridge, I saw people who were looking around at each other as if they had all just spent the night on the same living room floor, sleeping uneasily on ground that now seemed so uncertain.

We gather together in spiritual community.
Whoever you are, wherever you come from, you are welcome here.
May all who hunger for inspiration be filled.
May all in need of friendship be comforted.
Let us leave our time together refreshed anew, and carry our shared vision into the wider world.

We meet for worship Sundays at 10:30 AM at the Hollywood Senior Center, 1820 NE 40th, Portland, Oregon.
