MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE NOTES

On September 9th, the Membership and Worship committees joined forces to create and facilitate our Drive-Thru Water Communion Ritual. The turn out from the other church members was light but understandable as it was held on a weekday afternoon (3-6) which could have been difficult for some to attend. An option for a home visit produced one offering and some members elected to email their pictures and water stories directly to Linda Mac from their place of residence. I think the event was well worth the effort as it offered a creative alternative to the normal in person ritual and produced enough offerings so Linda Mac could incorporate the members pictures and stories into her worship service on the following Sunday( 9/13). Linda Mac deserves our deep appreciation for her vision and energy to oversee this event and produce the beautiful Zoom service that followed. A big thanks to my Membership team and other members that helped in the hands on work to make this event happen.

On September 13th, Linda B., Diane I. and her husband Larry coordinated and delivered our monthly food offerings to Lilac Meadows.  Larry met us behind HSC and provided the transportation to get the job done.

Our Chalice Circle coordinated by Deborah continues on it's regular schedule as does the Friday morning coffee group lead by D'On with Chandra substituting in her absence.

In our Path to Membership breakout room on 9/27 we had one (1) attend, Kathleen Deborah O'Day. Kathleen has UU experience as she was a member of a UU church in Indiana (I think) and was involved in R.E. as a teacher. She loves the faith and is looking for a church community that is not large but well functioning and offers groups that she can join to better get to know us. She showed interest in the Coffee and Chalice Circle groups so I'm asking Deborah and Chandra for their approval and to send Kathleen the links to join us. Joan Horton has previously given us her contact information and is attending our Sunday services often. She attended the Coffee group last Friday. She also has UU experience being raised in the Ft. Worth UU church.

We have one person fill out the Visitor information form on 9/6, Achama George. I invited her to our Path to Membership session and I'll continue to watch for her and of course other visitors . Our attendance was 45 on 9/27 which seems to be about average.

Diane I. keeps us steady on the task of keeping our phone tree active so we can stay in touch with our membership and report any needs.
