Convene
Meeting began at 7:22 PM, Tode, Liana, Hank, Karl and Dan in attendance.

Website update
- New Web site ready to go, Tode will give Anders the go ahead to go live
- Multiple people can edit/add content
- Rule proposed for 2 people to proof updating/adding majority of the content
- Training session to be arranged for Web site changes
Minutes
Minutes were approved.
RE Teacher
Since Annie has left, there is no DRE (Director of Religious Education)
Ashley is deciding which group she will be teaching
Rose, a top choice from the last set of interviews, mat be available. She had less experience at the time, but now with the new curriculum, she would be a good fit.
Liana has found good curriculum for the RE program.
Liana will find out which group Ashley she wants to teach and that her pay will be $14/hour
Alex has created ad for the teacher position, ad will be posted on Craiglist and in other area churches
Welcoming Marcia
On September 12, we should have a welcome for Marcia: cake, card from the kids, banner, etc
Second Sunday of the month is now the potluck, to coincide with Marcia's services
Talk with David Maynard about what a good welcome would be
Send out a postcard announcement for Marcia's first service
Karl will talk to Elizabeth about special music at Marcia's service
Marcia’s contract - Karl will create a draft of the contract for the board. Tode or Liana will be the signer when the contract is agreed upon.
Fundraising
Becky and Robin on board for the Fall Fundraiser. Liana will check in with them.
Talk to local businesses about donations and partnering with fundraisers
Thanksgiving Dinner with the Senior Center
Becky has proposed a pancake/waffle breakfast or dinner, maybe with a silent auction
Look for musician groups what may be available for events
Potlucks on the second Sundays on the month
Second Sunday of the month is now the potluck Sunday, to coincide with Marcia's services.
Phone Service
Hank will check in with Alex on the status of the new phone.
A schedule will need to be setup for a rotation of phone duties.
Order of Service changes
Hank will check with Tim if these are already in process. Elizabeth may have the electronic version and be making the changes.
Vancouver Newsletter
We will offer to put a link on our Web site, and perhaps a reciprocating link back to us.
Closing Up On Sundays
Need to have a checklist and procedures for close up, like we do with setup and have a rotating schedule for setup and lockup so more people can be involved and spread the responsibilities.
Retreat Planning
Tode will check with Marcia about the 12th or the 19th of September; Maybe take the MAX to Washington Park; Retreat and take a walk
Treasurer’s Report
June was a good month, overspent by $161 for the month. With 100% of the year done, we have a $80 surplus. We did not have to use any of the savings that was budgeted. The loan amount is currently $10,500, and will be paid down faster this year.
Donations (Special Collections) for the year totaled $2900, money Wyeast sent out (does not include checks written directly to the charities). Collections (other than special collections) were $2920 for the year.
Rally
Liana discussed an invitation for Wyeast to participate in a rally planned by the Albina Ministerial Alliance (AMA) Coalition for Justice and Police Reform. She will send out the information in an email to Wyeast google groups.
Other Items
Tode will discuss with worship committee to see if we can have a chalice service about what we are in the community.
Board needs to provide a member for the Ministerial Board
Tode will send Dan the mailing list, Sharai will create the announcement, Dan will provide labels and mail announcements.
