Wy'east Board meeting on May 18th, 2010

Present were Karl, Alex, Tode, Liana, Elizabeth, Susan, and Mark.

First we did our check-in.

The minutes from the May 4th meeting were approved.

Then we were joined by Sterling T.

There will be a party for Susan on June 19th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Tode's.

Susan's evaluation for the UUA needs to be completed by the first week of July.

A gift for Annie was discussed.

There needs to be an end of the year committee write up for the Connections, Ministerial, Religious Education, and Worship committees.

The worship service on June 6th will include volunteer recognition.

Two of our elder members, Gene and Yvonne, could come to Sunday morning services if transportation was available.

The books in our religious education library can be stored in the lower cabinets in the classroom, however, they also need to be gone through and cleaned out of old material.

Jon will be honoring Mabel as a long-time volunteer during the June 6th service.

It is suggested that July 18th would be a good day for doing a summer cleaning.

Anne S. will be doing childcare for the Annual meeting on May 23rd.

We spent some time visioning about church beyond Sundays, including Wyeast being a moral beacon, participating in an east side tool library, inviting others to work with us on social action projects, and each of us engaging in our own spiritual practice.

The next Board meeting, originally scheduled for Tuesday, will now be held on Monday, June 14th, at 7:15 PM.  Incoming Board members, Dan, Hank, and Liana are invited.  It was suggested that perhaps a Treasurer apprenticeship should be begun with one of the new Board members.
