This was a virtual meeting held over Zoom.

Attendees who are not voting members were asked to ignore the polls and not vote.

Cohosts of the zoom meeting were sent absentee ballots

 

  1. Introduction and grounding by Daniale

 

  1. Confirmation of Quorum
    1. We have approximately 54 potential voting members
    2. 31 devices joined the meeting
    3. At least 2 of those devices included two voting members
    4. Approximately three of the attendees were nonvoting
    5. A Quorum of 20% was easily achieved.

 

  1. 2020 Annual Meeting Minutes
    1. Ron moved to approve last year’s meeting minutes.
    2. Barbara seconded.
    3. Daniale tallied votes by show of hands. Motion carried.

 

  1. Budget for 2021-2022
    1. Ron moved to approve the proposed 2021-2022 budget.
    2. Kathryn seconded.
    3. Jocelyn facilitated the discussion.
      1. Confirmed that there is $100 for each sustained partnership
      2. Confirmed a minister’s discretionary fund of $2,190. It has not been used recently, but we continue to maintain it
      3. There are other funds like a moving fund to help people, in case that need arises.
      4. The predicted savings balance in June 2022 is $36,000, a drawdown of about $14,000.
      5. Note that there is $2400 budgeted for a ministerial search

  1. Social Justice Focus for 2021-2022
    1. Mathias moved to approve the focus “Examining Economic Inequality.”
    2. Linda seconded.
    3. Appreciation for the idea, the name, and the complexity of it were raised.
    4. Linda raised the possibility of a book group or study group to go along with the focus.
    5. Daniale tallied votes by show of hands. Motion carried.

 

  1. Appointments
    1. Voting took place via Zoom’s polling function. Chandra facilitated.
    2. These are uncontested ballots. Should we have a “no” option? A write-in option?
    3. 24 devices participated in the poll, plus 10 absentee ballots. See data below.
    4. M.A. (Mark Alter) was elected to the Board of Directors for a 2-year term.
    5. Linda Burk was elected to the Board of Directors for a 2-year term.
    6. Ruth Jenkins was elected to the Board of Directors for a 2-year term.
    7. Diane Hogan was elected to the Nominating Committee for a 2-year term.
    8. Karl Arruda was elected to the Endowment Committee for a 3-year term.

 

  1. Future Plans
    1. Daniale explained two big upcoming explorations for Wy’east
      1. Ministerial Search
        1. The board will form a committee soon.
        2. All are welcome to volunteer.
        3. We are not necessarily searching for a new minister. The option of being 100% lay-led is on the table.
      2. Return to In-person Services
        1. The board is forming a hybrid planning task force
        2. We have not heard from the senior center about a time to reopen.
        3. The membership committee is looking to organize some outdoor small group gatherings this summer.
    2. Daniale will be sending an email inviting thoughts and visions for the future of Wy’east.
      1. Hank will share a survey with the board that was used in the last ministerial search.
