Small Groups at Wy'east
Wy’east runs a number of small groups. These groups are open to members and non-members of the congregation. Groups are run by volunteers, and anyone should have the opportunity to lead or host a group.
Below is a list of the groups Wy’east is currently running:
Chalice Circle
Generally they meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month. This small group ministry and shared practice provides rich opportunities for connection, spiritual/personal exploration, and building community. These caring circles meet to share by listening deeply to each other and feeling deeply heard. New participants may join at any time. Contact Debra to learn more.
Poetry Sharing:
This group meets to share favorite poems, reading aloud, and sharing feed back. Poems come from many traditions, and many are written by the reader.
Social Justice:
Wy'east has a strong commitment to social justice, and members and friends participate in activities including feeding homeless families, sponsoring a family through the Village Support Network, and working with formerly incarcerated folks on reintegrating into society. We also have a group dedicated to this year's social justice theme of Housing. Contact M. A.
Book Group:
This group chooses a book each month to read and then discuss over a soup supper at a member's home. Contact worship@wyeastuu.org to learn more.
Men's Group:
This is an intergenerational group of men who gather twice monthly on zoom for community.
